As the short answer, you need Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise or Ultimate to change your instillation language. As a longer answer, yes it is. The program will prompt you to select the target USB device to make bootable and an.iso image of the Windows 7 install disk. After that, the USB stick will be. I've got my neighbors Asus EEE PC 1005HAB I'm trying to get working. Im trying to install windows 7 starter from a usb drive.
I can boot the netbook to the usb and load the windows setup files, but I cannot install windows on the hard drive because (This omputer's hardware may not support booting to this disk). Here's the confusing part.if I go into the bios I can set the HD to boot, but when I plug the usb stick in the option to boot to the HD disappears. It's as if the usb took place of the HD while its plugged in. I have an options to load drivers from within windows setup to get the HD working. I've already called asus and the tier 1 techy didnt answer my questions and wouldn't transfer me to upper level.
I've got the.iso for windows 7 starter made for the netbook (no there is not a retail.iso for starter) It's already loaded to boot on the usb and it works perfect. I cannot get the netbook to boot from my usb stick and recognize the hard drive as a boot device at the same time. If the usb is in the computer the hd is no longer a boot device in the bios options. I've tried the hd in ide and ahci and it has no effect. I believe I need a bios update/upgrade because asus said they did not support usb installation and only told me to hook up an external optical drive or use the image recovery software that is no longer on this hard drive.
There is no recovery media. The new asus netbooks do not ship with any recovery discs. The only recovery option is there Image Recovery that is partitioned on the hard drive. That partition has been deleted. I am using a copy of windows 7 starter 32 (the operating system the netbook ships with). I had to find my own copy since obviously there is no other way to fix this pc. Aaa Logo 2009 Serial Free Download.
Basically without and external dvd drive I am unable to proceed further because their bios does not allow me to install ANY operating system from a USB drive. Bottom line is I need to know how I can get the eee pc bios to recognize the hard drive and the usb drive at the same time.
