Silvercrest SL65 Digital Satellite Receiver. The firmware is also very similar to that used in the Strong SR65xx series, and it can be ported from the Strong SRT65xx to the Silvercrest SL65 and vice-versa. The ones mentioned as 'Not modifiable' will become dead if updated with the firmware from the modifiable ones. I bought an SL65 from Lidl about 2 or 3 years ago which I don't use except as a test when messing with cables and dishes and stuff. Because I'm a little bit of a firmware freak, I tried to update the firmware a while back but it constantly fails. I'm wondering if maybe Silvercrest have changed the parameters.

I've just got one of these from Lidl and I'm really impressed. However, I've just got a couple of questions. According to the instructions you can get teletext, but when I press the text button on the remote a message says no text available, but this is on BBC1/2 etc and the channel info screen does state that text is available.
I assume the box does not support interactive services. The EPG function only has now and next info, but is there anyway to get 7 or 14 day epg.
I've tried searching for a software update on Astra 19.8, but it keeps failing. As the version on the box is dated 28,12,07 I assume that there is a newer version available.
The dish is pointing to Astra 28.2 Many thanks for any help. I have the SL30 (Comag) which is basically a stripped down version of the same box, without all the connections at the rear and the front panel display. It too doesn't display teletext on some channels. I suspect that this will be because it is encoded along with the Sky/Freesat epg for channels on 28.2. I have no trouble though with the teletext, both analogue and digital, on the channels transmitting it on 13e, 19e, 23.5e, 42e etc. So the internal decoder does work.
It won't support any interactive services such as the BBC red button, only the FTA transmissions on a particular satellite. The epg is also a bit of a hit n miss with me. The clock also tends to have a mind of its own on the Turksat channels. The software issue is the same as yours. I've done a scan on 19.2 for an update but it does fail. I'm wondering if you have to search a specific frequency or is it just supposed to find it by itself.
Whichever way, it fails, unless there is no update as yet for the Silvercrest/Comag receivers. I've tried searching for a software update on Astra 19.8, but it keeps failing. As the version on the box is dated 28,12,07 I assume that there is a newer version available.

Captain Vyom Serial Youtube. 8 if your dish is aimed at Astra 2 on 28.2 On the text issue from the depths of my memory when I was using a FTA box if you go to BBC1 London and press text and then enter page 199 you can see the limited service. I think it was possible to see the news headlines and the radio & television schedules for the current date. Not sure if I mis-understood part of your post, but I'm not sure if you can get the update from Astra 1 on 19.8 if your dish is aimed at Astra 2 on 28.2 Many thanks for the replies. I should have said that I did point the dish at 19.8. I will contact them and see whether there is an update.
